The Power Olympic Outdoor Center is located on the San Marcos river. Since the river is spring fed it remains 72 degrees Fahrenheit (22 Celsius) and allows for kayaking year around. The Red River Racing organization offers lessons in kayaking that range in ability from beginner courses, advanced skills and maneuvers all the way up to certification for instructing. The instructors on hand include Olympic athletes and US National Team members.
